Gmail’s the word
The biggest news to hit the email geek world was Gmail’s announcement that it will soon be supporting embedded css, media queries, and finally providing some killer developer documentation for email developers—something which has never been done by any email client vendor!
Email geeks took to the Community, slightly incredulous that this was actually happening. Yes, it’s happening! We’re excited to see the changes take place in Gmail, and learn from the Community on how this will change the way email developers code their emails. Email marketing–boom or bust?
Here’s an interesting, but perhaps controversial topic, posted this month, discussing whether there’s a glass ceiling on careers in email marketing. It’s a serious question to consider for anyone thinking of diving into a career in the email industry.
In some fields, email marketers often have to wear multiple hats. In others, the industry is getting more specialized. Email developer, copywriter, deliverability expert, campaign manager, email designer–these are becoming common roles in email marketing.
