Litmus Live Boston 2017—a Recap in Tweets
With 3 tracks, 35 sessions, and hundreds of email-loving attendees, Litmus Live Boston was the largest event we’ve ever hosted. Couldn’t be there in person? Here’s a recap (thanks, Twitter).
Overcoming Imposter Syndrome
Do you sometimes feel like you’re sitting at your keyboard, just “faking it ‘til you make it”? Truth is, you’re not alone. We all make it up as we go—and that’s probably the best part of working in email.

Optimizing images in email
When translating your brand into email, nothing is more powerful than imagery. Think beyond logos only and don’t be afraid to experiment with different image formats, like background images. At the same time, keep the mobile subscriber experience in mind: lighter images load faster and use less data. Image optimization is key for hitting branding goals while also making sure your email performs for a mobile audience.
If we remove logos from B2B emails, they look the same. Background images are a good way to expand brand identity #LitmusLive @melaniebeth_ pic.twitter.com/fK0CqkLpKu

Don’t be afraid to experiment with interactivity
No, interactive email isn’t just for big name brands and the most advanced email coders. With rising support for basic interactive elements in key email clients, it’s time to experiment with making your emails more interactive. Start with simple elements, like hover effects.

A key quality of a great email marketer is being able to listen
Whether you’re thinking about content for your next big campaign, or wonder what email frequency is right for your audience, listening to your subscribers and truly understanding their preferences is key to running a successful email program.
Your support peeps are your 👀 and 👂🏼 out in the wild, never underestimate how much of an incredible resource they are #litmuslive https://t.co/PciGOfsFa5

Mastering personalization
Personalization is so much more than just picking up your subscriber’s first and last name. Identify factors that truly matter to your audience—and make personalization a powerful mechanism for connecting customers with your brand.
So much to personalize: send time, content, what customer does and doesn't, events, real-time data @vickymakesstuff #LitmusLive pic.twitter.com/eQPJIFmyrM
